CB&L President, J. Thomas Johnson, Re-Elected To
Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta Board of Directors

J. Thomas "Tommy" Johnson was reelected by member institutions in South Carolina to serve on the Board of Directors of the regional Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. Mr. Johnson is the President and CEO of Citizens Building and Loan Association in Greer, SC and currently serves as vice chairman of the FHLBank Atlanta Board of Directors. Johnson first joined the FHLBank Atlanta Board of Directors in 2004
"I am pleased again to represent member financial institutions of South Carolina. The FHLBank Atlanta has contributed much to the liquidity of institutions and affordable housing in our state," said Mr. Johnson of his re-appointment.
Mr. Johnson also serves as Chairman of Business Carolina, Inc. a statewide economic development lender. He is a Board Member of First Community Corporation and has served on the Board of the South Carolina Bankers Association and a number of other civic and professional organizations. His new two-year will begin January 1, 2010.
FHLBank Atlanta is one of 12 regional banks in the Federal Home Loan Bank System. It is a cooperative bank that raises money in global markets in order to provide low-cost financing, community development grants, and other banking services to help over 1200 member financial institutions make affordable home mortgages and provide economic development credit to neighborhoods and communities. Members are commercial banks, credit unions, thrifts, and insurance companies headquartered in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
